April 2006 Field Trip for Austin Nature Day
As part of Austin Nature Day on 4/15, we led a Field Trip and Guided Hike of Brodie Wild. Native plants and wildlife were identified and the advantages of landscaping with native plants were discussed, especially with regard to beauty, wildlife, and water quality and conservation.Volunteers: Lisa Spangler, Jason Spangler
April 2006 Sign and Kiosk Installation

February 2006 Volunteer Day
Thanks to everyone who came out to Brodie Wild on Sunday 2/19 and volunteered in spite of the foul weather! If you volunteered but your name is missing from the list below, please email me and let me know so I can add it.We accomplished lots, including:
- Installed the 6 posts for the 2 signs and the kiosk (involved jackhammering all six holes and concrete)
- Planted ~140 native plants: Liatris, Little Bluestem, Bushy Bluestem, Eastern Gamagrass
- Planted 4 bags of native plant seed: Prairie Parsley,
Liatris
- Collected ~15 bags of trash plus some large items
- Cut lots of Ashe Juniper
