Several other organizations promote and protect native plants in the area and throughout Texas, including:

• The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center contains beautiful native plant gardens and promotes conservation, restoration, and landscaping with native plants.
• The National Wildlife Federation runs the Backyard Wildlife Habitat program where you can learn about attracting wildlife with native plants in your own backyard!
• Texas Parks and Wildlife sponsors similar programs, Texas Wildscapes and Best of Texas Backyard Habitats.
  
• The Native Prairies Association of Texas (NPAT) promotes the conservation, restoration, and appreciation of native prairies in Texas and throughout the United States.
• The Natural Area Preservation Association (NAPA) is a private, non-governmental land trust dedicated to conserving land in Texas to benefit wildlife and to preserve examples of our natural heritage.
• The mission of The Nature Conservancy and the Texas chapter is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.
