Jaycee Park in Irving Texas

This garden is part of the Jaycee Park gardens located on the south side of SH 183 between Story Rd. and MacArthur Blvd. The Irving Parks and Recreation Department provides water with an irrigation system and contributes cypress mulch, but the garden is fully maintained by the Dallas Chapter. It was planted in 1995 with plants donated from members. It is about 1,500 square feet surrounded by several large trees around the back half. The garden provides a succession of seasonal color and texture with a mix of perennials, shrubs and native grasses.

Jaycee Park contains several beds of colorful annuals near the road, surrounded by a lawn that slopes down to a small lake. It is a pleasant place where many people stop by for a stroll or to eat a quick bite of lunch

Butterfly Garden at Cedar Ridge Preserve

The Butterfly Garden near the entrance to Cedar Ridge Preserve was started years ago by another garden club. The Dallas Chapter took over maintenance last year and is re-planting it with natives and other butterly-friendly adapted plants.
