Speaker Joe Blanton, "Privet Reinfestation Study"
 

Joe Blanton, Naturalist with the Houston Arboretum

 and Nature Center www.houstonarboretum.org,

 will give an overview of their planned study, which will

remove invasive privet, then add native plants. They will

compare areas of the arboretum to see what methods result in the best results.

Join us to learn more this wonderful Houston area natural resource, the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center.

"Prairie Ecology" 

Mark Kramer of Armand Bayou will discuss prairie ecology, fire on the

 prairie and a history of Armand Bayou Nature Center and our coastal prairies.

 and rare plants of the Watson Preserve.

Join us for a special celebration that includes a delicious buffet and
our annual (extremely brief) elections. We will have a quick
discussion about Land Trusts and their importance to preservation of
natural areas around Houston. Bring native plant seeds or native plants,
or simply join us for the celebration; we'll have extra seeds and plants
to share.
