Speaker Don Johnson, "Hooray for Insects"

Don Johnson, a Master Naturalist and a volunteer with the Museum of Natural Science, will give a presentation on beneficial and harmful insects found in the yard and garden.

Diana will give a presentation that will explain how to use native plants in your yard.

 Invasive plants eliminate habitats for wildlife. Lisa will tell us about the most common invasive plants and she will explain what we can do about the problem

Flo, a senior sanctuary steward for Houston Audubon

  will discuss how plants provide food for the insects that are food for birds. Flo's talk is based on Doug Tallamy's book, Bringing Nature Home, How Native Plants in Your Garden Sustain Wildlife.

Annual Native Plant & Seed Swap and Social

Join us for a special celebration that includes a delicious buffet and
our annual (extremely brief) elections. We will have a quick
discussion about Land Trusts and their importance to preservation of
natural areas around Houston. Bring native plant seeds or native plants,
or simply join us for the celebration; we'll have extra seeds and plants
to share.
