Flo Oxley with Austin’s
Wildflower Center Will Speak
Flo
Oxley, Director of Conservation and Education at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower
Center in Austin, will speak at the December meeting of the Kerrville chapter of
the Native Plant Society of Texas. The meeting will be held at Riverside
Nature Center at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 5. Flo is an expert on Texas
native plants and is a most entertaining speaker.
The title of her talk
will be Sex in the Garden.
Flo
manages the Wildflower Center’s adult, children and family education programs;
onsite interpretation and exhibits as well as the docent training. She
oversees the seed bank and herbarium programs, writes for the Center’s
publications and presents numerous talks and workshops. She has a BS
degree with an emphasis in botany and a Master of Science degree with an
emphasis in mycology. Both degrees are from Texas State University in San
Marcos.
Our Native Plant Society
is very fortunate to have such as well known but busy speaker at our meeting. Please come
and encourage your friends and acquaintances to attend this meeting. It is very important to have a good turnout when we
have an outside speaker. Flo is an outstanding speaker, and everyone who
attends will hear a fun and valuable talk about our beloved native plants.
Important reminder: Please bring native plants for the drawing.
Thus is really fun when we have a large number of plants.
Not sure it’s a native……Bring for
discussion and PPID( Positive Plant Identification)
Refreshments : Special thanks to Edna Platte and Nina Wagner
