NATIVES ON THE GROWDedicated to the understanding, preservation and enjoyment of the native flora of the Hill Country The Kerrville Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas holds monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of the month (September through June), 2:00 P.M. at Riverside Nature Center, 150 Francisco Lemos St. in Kerrville. These meetings are free and open to the public.
Meeting Time and Date: The meeting this month will be held on January 8, at 2:00 pm at the riverside Nature Center. Cooks Slough Wetland Project Subject of January Meeting Ken Cave, Executive Director of the Texas Hill Country River Region, will share the story of the Cooks Slough Project that opened last summer. NPSOT members and guests will learn how Uvalde's sewage ponds and landfill were transformed into one of Texas' most unique nature preserves renowned for it's wide variety of birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and native plants. A special bonus will be the opportunity to learn about “Nature Quest”, a top nature program developed and hosted by the Texas Hill Country River Region. Looking ahead! The February Meeting will feature Jayson Mains, from the Native American Seed Company in Junction. His talk will be about prairie restoration and native grasses. KERRVILLE
NPSOT – CHAPTER MEETING DAY/TIME It’s
been mentioned that our chapter is the only one statewide with a weekday/daytime
meeting schedule. This timing prevents attendance by those who work full
time. We’d like your opinion on meeting schedule. Options are: Helpful hints about

completing the form please indicate the Kerrville chapter name because
our chapter gets refunded a portion of the dues for our chapter expenses. If
you are renewing your membership, please send your renewal to the address above
and include your membership ID to ensure we credit the correct account.
