Cooks Slough Wetland Project Subject of January Meeting

Ken Cave, Executive Director of the Texas Hill Country River Region, will share the story of the Cooks Slough Project that opened last summer. NPSOT members and guests will learn how Uvalde's sewage ponds and landfill were transformed into one of Texas' most unique nature preserves renowned for it's wide variety of birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and native plants.

A special bonus will be the opportunity to learn about “Nature Quest”, a top nature program

developed and hosted by the Texas Hill Country River Region.

 Looking ahead!

The February Meeting will feature Jayson Mains, from the Native American Seed Company in Junction. His talk will be about prairie restoration and native grasses.

KERRVILLE NPSOT – CHAPTER MEETING DAY/TIME
PREFERENCE SURVEY

It’s been mentioned that our chapter is the only one statewide with a weekday/daytime meeting schedule.  This timing prevents attendance by those who work full time.  We’d like your opinion on meeting schedule.  Options are:
1) Keep the current chapter meeting schedule on Tuesday afternoons
2) Move to weekday/evening meeting schedule
3) Move to weekend/daytime meeting schedule

If you didn’t have a chance to vote at the December chapter meeting, please email your preference of meeting option and any comments to kerrville@npsot.org.

Thanks in advance!!
