December Meeting

Tuesday, Dec 2, 6:30-8:30 pm

This will be the kick-off of our series of evening meetings.

Holiday social & native plant/seed exchange.

Bring finger foods and plants to trade.  Now is the time to start collecting seeds or rooting cuttings of woody plants.

 Evening Meetings

The next evening meeting is scheduled for February 2009.

President’ Message

November 4 is Election Day, so please vote before or after the meeting.

Bob Richie will assume responsibility for the library garden. Bob is a Master Naturalist and a member of the Kerrville Cactus Club.  He worked with the library garden signs a few years ago but spent much of the last two years working in Alaska. Thank you,  Bob,  for doing this job.

NPSOT, Strategic Goals and Objectives for 2009-2012 were recently introduced. This planning document should be available on NPSOT’s website or I can email you a copy. It will be used to provide more focus for state and chapter activities.

Remember our first evening meeting will be a plant exchange and holiday social Tuesday, December 2.  Save your Native Plants for this event. Hope to see everyone there.

 Library Garden

Sounds Fabulous

Mick Mecke shares: New Encyclopedia of Life  being developed:

The Encyclopedia of Life (EOL) is an ambitious project to organize and make available via the Internet virtually all information about life present on Earth. At its heart lies a series of Web sites—one for each of the approximately 1.8 million known species. Each site is constantly evolving and features dynamically synthesized content ranging from historical literature and biological descriptions to stunning images, videos and distribution maps. Join us as we explore the richness of Earth’s biodiversity!
