Welcome to the Tonkawa Chapter of NPSOT. The picture of the White Mistflower on the right is not from Sally Wasowski's book. It is from members Ed and LaVerne's landscape. We were mildly shocked, and pleasantly surprised when, on November 10th we spotted the mistflower literally covered with butterflies, mostly Monarchs, but several others plus bees. There must have been 40 to 50 on a single plant. For anyone wishing to attract butterflies, this is a great choice. It is a fall bloomer and works well in dappled shade, shade, and full sun. Ours is in dappled shade. After frost, Sally suggests that it be cut back severely so that it will be low, bushy, and full of flowers next year. Good luck
