Texas Woman's University (TWU) is located on the north side of Denton. Our meetings will be held in the Administration Conference Tower building, which is building "1A" on the detailed campus map. On meeting nights we will be allowed to park in the visitors parking area plus the parking areas, marked on the map in gray, to the north and to the west of the Administration Conference Tower. The west parking lot is on the west side of Oakland Street, just north of the Human Resources building.
There is a traffic control light at the corner of Bell Avenue and Administration Drive. The visitors parking lot is a short distance west of Bell Avenue on Administration Drive, just to the north of the TWU information hut that is in the middle of Administration Drive. The brown high-rise building nearly across the road from the parking lot is the Administration Conference Tower. If you follow the covered walkway along the hillside, you will end up at the door to the lobby on the second floor of the ACT building where we will socialize and view educational displays. At the far end of the lobby is the elevator and stairway that can be taken to the third floor for the meeting in room 301.
If you are driving to the meeting from outside of Denton then the following information might be useful. US Highway 380 is the major east-west thoroughfare on the north side of Denton. Also called University Drive, it borders the northern edge of the TWU campus.
Arriving from Gainsville or Fort Worth? From I-35 take exit 469 and turn right, if going north, or left, if going south, on to University Drive. Drive east about 2 miles to Bell Avenue. Turn right on Bell Avenue. Then turn right at the first intersection with a traffic control light, which is Administration Drive. Park in a designated parking spot.
Arriving from Dallas? Either take I-35 through Denton and go to exit 469, one exit after I-35W joins I-35E and follow the directions above. Or take a shorter, but more tricker route. Exit I-35E at the Dallas Drive exit just as you are entering Denton. Dallas Drive curves after going under a railroad bridge. You will now be on Bell Avenue, heading north into a S curve. Pass though the light at Prairie. Follow the curve. Stay in the left hand lane. The next traffic light is at Hickory Street. Continue. The next traffic light is McKinny Street. Continue. Immediately after passing Mckinny Street, Bell Avenue curves to the right. At the end of the curve is another traffic control light, turn left at the light. You will still be on Bell Avenue. Go up the hill to Administration Drive and turn left. Park in a designated parking spot.
