The board has prepared a proposed set of Bylaws
for our chapter. We will present this document at the March
general meeting and we will call for a vote at the April general
meeting.

The Trinity Forks Board, lead by Cynthia Maguire and Cathy Lustgarten,
has developed a position
statement on the Post Oak trees that were part
of the Cross Timber Forest.

On Tuesday, November 11, 2008, a group of volunteers spend
the day working on the Benny J. Simpson Memorial Garden at TWU.
Cynthia Maguire wrote a report
on the lead up and the activities of this workday.

Denton has been
selected by the State Board of the Native Plant Society of Texas to be
the location of the 2010 State Symposium. This will be in
honor of the
thirtieth anniversary of the founding of the society.

We do need someone to act as the field trip chair. Anyone who
is
willing to lead a field trip that is orgainized by the board please
contact us. We are also looking for a member to volunteer to
help
coordinate the spring plant sale.

We have discovered an interesting
phamplet on the Texas State Parks web site that discusses the
dangers of invasive species.
