For a specific act of conservation or public service in the field of Texas native plants
Nancy Jean Benedict (1923-1985) was a charter member of the Native Plant Society of Texas and one of its early presidents. She had an unwavering concern for the well-being of the society and was instrumental in organizing it. Benedict was an ardent conservationist with a strong focus on preserving our native plants.
