This landmark event will celebrate 100 years of Texas State Forests\, and passionate volunteers are needed to help make this monumental event a success. \n\n\n\nEvent Details: \n\n\n\n\nDate: October 19\, 2024\n\n\n\nTime: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nLocation: W.G. Jones State Forest\, 1328 FM 1488\, Conroe\, Texas 77384\n\n\n\n\nWe are depending on the dedication of volunteers like you to ensure that this celebration is a memorable and smooth-running event for our diverse audience of an anticipated 500-1\,500 attendees. Your support is crucial for our success\, and we are offering a range of roles to match your interests and availability. \n\n\n\nVolunteer Opportunities Include: \n\n\n\n\nGate Greeters: Welcome guests\, guide them to shuttles\, assist with parking\, and provide a friendly first impression.\n\n\n\nInformation Table Attendants: Help direct exhibitors to their booths\, distribute lunch tickets\, inform attendees about resources\, and hand out information flyers.\n\n\n\nExhibit Booth Stand-ins & Lunch Distribution: Cover for exhibitors during breaks and distribute lunches to exhibitors and volunteers.\n\n\n\nNative Plant & Tree Giveaway Station: Distribute native plants to attendees and help restock the plant selection.\n\n\n\n\nVolunteers are needed for 3-hour shifts during the 6-hour event. This allows you to contribute meaningfully while also enjoying the festivities and networking opportunities. \n\n\n\nTo Volunteer: Please complete the Volunteer Registration Form by October 11\, 2024. SUMMARY:PreOrder for the Fredericksburg Chapter Members-only Fall Plant Sale.
DESCRIPTION:Current members of the Native Plant Society of Texas by October 9 can preorder native plants through the Fredericksburg fall native plant sale. Lists of available plants will be emailed to members Friday\, October 11. Orders must be returned by Sunday\, October 13 @ 10 pm.  \n\n\n\nThe chapter is experimenting this month by offering flats of several varieties of perennials. These 4” plants allow gardeners to experiment with a mixed variety @ a cost of $4.00 ea. This first-come\, first-served opportunity for our entire membership is available during our sale on Saturday October 19. No preorder necessary. \n\n\n\nVolunteers to help unload nursery truck upon delivery on Friday the 18th and separate the plants into the member orders are definitely welcome. Volunteers get to take their plants home that same day.  \n\n\n\nPlants must be picked up Saturday\, October 19 between 9 – 2:30.
