DESCRIPTION:The City of Lewisville Parks and Recreation Department has taken an important step towards preserving and protecting the local ecosystem by establishing pollinator prairies and no-mow zones. These prairies are designed to provide habitats for various pollinators\, such as bees\, butterflies\, and birds\, who play a crucial role in pollinating flowers and crops. The initiative involved transforming unused spaces in the city\, such as road medians and undeveloped parkland\, into thriving habitats for pollinators with the help of native plants and wildflowers.
