SUMMARY:2024 Ashe Juniper Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The 2024 Ashe Juniper Symposium by Biodiversity Works will take place on May 8th and 9th\, 2024 at the Commons Conference Center in Austin\, Texas. \n\n\n\nThe goal of the symposium is to advance our collective understanding of the science of Ashe juniper and facilitate applications of this understanding into management and conservation of sustainable\, resilient and ecologically-appropriate ecosystems. \n\n\n\nThe symposium will bring together scientists\, land stewards\, conservation practitioners\, private landowners and others\, and will provide an opportunity to hear about and discuss historical perspectives\, recent research\, and current initiatives pertaining to Ashe juniper ecology and ecosystem management\, the social science of land stewardship\, as well as land management programs and projects in central Texas.

DESCRIPTION:Comal Conservation Community Program – January 2025 \n\n\n\nMcKenna Events Center801 W San Antonio StNew Braunfels\, TX 78130 \n\n\n\nDaniel Oppenheimer\, Land Management Director at the Hill Country Alliance\, will talk about the Camp Bullis Sentinel Landscape (CBSL) Partnership. This Partnership is a locally led\, collaborative group focused on conserving natural resources\, strengthening military readiness\, and bolstering agricultural productivity around Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis. \n\n\n\nSentinel landscapes are areas where conservation\, working lands\, and national defense interests converge. They are anchored by at least one high-value military installation or range and contain high priority lands for USDA\, DOD\, DOI\, and FEMA.  The CBSL is the first sentinel landscape in Texas. Most of Comal County lies within the CBSL.

DESCRIPTION:2025 Fall Symposium\n\n\n\n\nThe Native Plant Society of Texas 2025 Fall Symposium is coming to Salado\, TX\, October 3rd-5th!\n\n\n\nThis year’s theme is “Teach for the Future!” \n\n\n\nVirtual Event Overview:\n\n\n\n\nVirtual Registration\n\n\n\n\nIn-Person Event Overview\n\n\n\nThe Salado Middle School will serve as the symposium headquarters and NPSOT group-rate lodging is available for a limited time at hotels and other accommodations throughout the city. The full schedule will include insightful plenary sessions\, open-seating concurrent sessions\, a choice of guided-field trips through the region\, the Annual State Meeting of Members\, the Annual Awards Banquet\, and much more. \n\n\n\nAttendees can attend a meet and greet\, participate in our silent auction\, visit vendor\, exhibitor\, and sponsor displays at the Middle School\, and take self-guided field trips in Salado\, and when traveling to and from the Symposium. \n\n\n\nThis hybrid event includes registration options for in-person and virtual attendance\, with in-person Society member and scholastic discounts.
