If you bring a copy of the book\, you can have it signed.   \n\n\n\nFor over three decades\, Andrea DeLong-Amaya has been living her life’s mission to honor the natural world through presenting and teaching classes about the horticulture\, ecology\, and importance of native plants in planned landscapes. She has contributed numerous gardening articles to publications such as Taunton’s Fine Gardening\, Rodale’s Organic Gardening\, American Public Gardens Association’s Public Garden\, Neil Sperry’s Gardens and e-Gardens\, Texas Gardener and Wildflower (the Center’s member magazine). Her regionally best-selling book\, the Texas Native Plant Primer (Timber Press)\, was released in March of 2025. \n\n\n\nThe meeting is at the Headwaters of the Comal 333 E. Klingmann St.

DESCRIPTION:Habitat volunteers help weed and mulch flower beds\, plant native plants\, maintain pathways\, and trim trees and bushes. Volunteers may also help clean out the pond on select work days. \n\n\n\n\nNo experience necessary—we’ll show you what goes and what stays\n\n\n\nBring your own tools or use ours (we have gloves too)\n\n\n\nDon’t forget to bring a reusable water bottle\, hat\, and sunscreen!\n\n\n\n\nVolunteers must be 18 or older to participate in EIH’s workdays unless prior arrangements have been made. \n\n\n\nWe do not hold workdays when the university is officially closed. Also\, workdays are canceled during inclement weather\, though a light sprinkle or drizzle rarely keeps us out of the garden.
