SUMMARY:San Antonio Chapter Meeting May 2026
DESCRIPTION:Arrive at 6:30pm to share or find native plants at the Plants x Donation table. \n\n\n\nThis will be a “hybrid” meeting\, attend in-person or online. \n\n\n\n\nIn person: The Gathering Center at the Urban Ecology Center at Phil Hardberger Park\, 8400 NW Military Hwy\n\n\n\nOnline: Please register in advance to attend via Zoom.\n\n\n\n\nPresentation by Elizabeth McGreevy\, Founder and Program Director of Project BedrockMountain Cedars: Junipers that Benefit Texas Karst Country\n\n\n\nFor more than 100 years\, we’ve fought the woody brush spreading across the limestone regions of Texas called karst country. Much of this woody cover consists of native juniper trees\, commonly called mountain cedars. Instead of causing harm\, we now know mountain cedars act as ecosystem engineers to improve and sustain Texas karst country function. Come learn about these benefits and what we can do to use mountain cedars as another nature-based solution to help enhance soil health\, groundwaters\, productivity\, property values\, and resilience. \n\n\n\nIf you are attending in person\, there is no need to register. However\, if you are attending via Zoom\, please register here before the meeting begins as late registration and entry will not be allowed. After registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. \n\n\n\nNote: The Zoom recording will be available within days after the meeting on our  YouTube channel.
