Enjoy the butterflies and observe the native plants that attract them with Pines and Prairies members who are with the North American Butterfly Association. Please dress appropriately for hiking, bring a sun hat, your own lunch, water, and bug spray. There is a
$3.00 fee for non-members of NABA.
Sandylands Butterfly Count – Sunday, April 23, 9:30am, meet at Roy Larson Sandylands Nature Conservancy trailhead parking lot, 4208 HWY 327 West, Silsbee, TX., just east of bridge over Village Creek on FM 327. This Conservancy is known for its longleaf pine forest, rare plants, and is one of the few places where you can expect to see zebra swallowtails. San Jacinto Count – Saturday, May 6, 9:00am, meet at the McDonalds, 441 West Southline Street (HWY-105), Cleveland.
Raven Butterfly Count – Saturday, May 20, 9:00am, meet in the parking lot of the Brookshire Brothers grocery store, 21005 Eva Street (a.k.a. HWY 105 West), Montgomery.
