The annual Cross Timbers Plant swap will occur at our October meeting. This is such a fun and exciting event, where you can go home with a treasured native plant. I look forward to this every year.
How to participate
- Bring a potted native plant to the meeting.
- Typically, plants are in one quart or larger pots.
- The plant may be:
- Purchased
- Transplanted from your yard or other location
- The plant should be native to the Cross Timbers region.
- Informational sheet about the plant that includes:
- Common Name
- Scientific Name
- Type: Tree, Shrub, Subshrub, Herb, Vine, Groundcover
- Evergreen, Semi-evergreen, Diciduous
- Conditions: Sun, Partial Sun/Shade, Shade
- Soil drainage requirements: well drained, wet, etc.
- Soil pH requirements
- Bloom Color:
- Bloom Time:
- Pollinators/Other Insects Supported (optional)
- Why do you love this plant and want to share it with someone?
What to expect
Each participant will be asked to share information about their plant. Then a game will be played to swap plants between members.
