Starting this year, NPSOT Austin will be collaborating with NPAT to promote Texas native plants and restoration of native prairies. As part of that collaboration we would like to encourage our members to participate in NPAT work days.
Join us for volunteer projects on NPAT’s Dowell Ranch Preserve. We will be working on various restoration projects for prairies, woodlands and wetlands. We will be conducting wildlife and plant surveys during the year as well. Work and learn!
Some projects we are working on:
-collecting seeds from the front pasture
-planting a seed mix in the ranch yard (where I can water)
-potting up some native plants
-creating cages for plants we will be planting in October (deer proofing)
