Join us for a photo tour showcasing the diversity of wildflowers in Houston’s Memorial Park, led by retired environmental scientist Joe Liggio. He will share photos taken throughout the seasons at Memorial Park and lead brief discussions about each species.
About the Speaker – Joe Liggio
Joe Liggio is a Texas botanist, nature photographer, and writer. He and his wife Ann wrote Wild Orchids of Texas published in 1999 by the University of Texas Press. His photos and writing have been published in various magazines, including Texas Highways, Texas Parks and Wildlife Magazine, Science, Orchids (The bulletin e of American Orchid Society), Earth Magazine, Texas Mushrooms, and the Illustrated Flora of East Texas. He is currently serving on the board of directors for the Watson Rare Native Plant Preserve.
Our monthly chapter meetings are held on every 3rd Thursday, January – November. Our meetings are free and open to the public thanks to our members and sponsors.
