Jay Gowen’s interest in native plants began in 2014 when he moved to Montgomery County and saw the abundance and beauty of native flowers and grasses growing in the unlikeliest of places. He collected specimens from vacant lots and cracks in the sidewalk and brought them to his garden where they thrived. Through his association with the Pines and Prairies chapter of NPSOT, he continues to expand his collection and knowledge of native plants.
