Creech Prairie Restoration in Wilson County
Drs. Robert and Melinda Creech are native Houstonians. Melinda holds a Ph.D. in English from Baylor; Robertβs degree is in Biblical Studies. They have been married 53 years and have three children: Alan, Taylor, and Jenna. Alan is married to Kathryn, and they have a daughter, Madison, and a son, Austin, in Houston. Taylor is married to Amber, and they have a daughter, Ava, and a son, Jonas, in North Carolina. Jenna lives in Anchorage, Alaska, with her son, Isaiah.
In 2023, after retiring from the faculty of Baylor Universityβs George W. Truett Theological Seminary, the Creeches moved to family land in Floresville. Working with a Pastures for Upland Birds Grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife, they are restoring 88 acres to native prairie. Theyβve formed a non-profit organization (Creech Prairie Restoration, Inc.) and have built a guesthouse on the property. They are Texas Master Gardeners, serve on the Sutherland Springs Historical Museum board, and are active in the Wilson County Historical Society.
The meeting is at the Headwaters of the Comal 333 E. Klingmann St.
