Did you know that in 2009, under Governor Rick Perry, designated the third week of October as Texas Native Plant Week? It was created with the goal to publicize conservation and to hell educate the public.
For the week of October 15-21 we are asking everyone to participate in showing off their gardens! Each day has a theme and we want to see how YOU are doing your part. Simply post a picture on your Facebook page and use the hashtags for that day and tag us and NPSOT in it.
The week of Texas Native Plant Week is also the same week NPSOT is holding its Biobiltz challenge on iNaturalist. Simply find any native plants in the wild and post it to iNaturalist. You can find more information here,
