The Native Plant Society of Texas will offer 17 landscaping classes this fall at various locations around the state. The one-day classes are part of the Native Landscaping Certification Program, a series which teaches best practices for native plant landscaping.
Click through to the class list to find a class and register.
Each class includes both classroom instruction and fieldwork, with an emphasis on helping students become familiar with the identification and use of specific plants native to their region. The first three levels each present 45 native Texas plants recommended for your landscape and 5 plants to avoid.
Classes are intended to be useful both to homeowners and professionals. Anyone may register for a Level 1 class, which is a prerequisite for Level 2 and 3. CEUs are now offered by International Society of Arboriculture and Texas Nursery and Landscape Association. Texas Master Naturalists and Texas Master Gardeners count classes as training hours.
Classes are consistent across the state but focus on the characteristics and plants of the region in which they are taught. Please register for classes located in the region in which you wish to landscape.
This information is subject to change. Check back later for additional classes.
