MARCH MEETING
OUTDOOR PRESENTATION FEATHER FEST
ACTION NATURE CENTER
6900 Smoky Hill Ct.
Saturday, March 28, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
In lieu of an indoor presentation in March, we will have a booth at Feather Fest, a celebration of spring and birds at the Acton Nature Center. This is a well-attended event with lots of kids’ activities and participation. We’ve been told that making wildflower seed balls at our booth is a highlight for many of the kids, so please come to the ANC, enjoy the hopefully beautiful day, and try to spend a little time with us.
We still need additional help to staff our booth, so please respond to this newsletter if you’re able to help out for an hour or two. Bob and Sandra Reed will be instructing the kids in making seed balls at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and need about 4 people to assist in that process.
Please join us on this day filled with lots of fun and a great opportunity to educate others in native plants.
If you’re unsure of this location and Google fails you, go north on Hwy. 377 and turn right on the road next to Kroger. When you come to the T in Acton go right until you reach the stoplight at Smoky Hill Ct. There is a large sign for the Acton Nature Center; you’ll turn left at the light and the road dead-ends at the center. De Cordova Bend entrance is to the right at the stoplight.

SPRING NATIVE PLANT SALE SATURDAY, APRIL 11, 8:30 AM – 1 PM Next to Native Plant Demonstration Garden, Glen Rose Courthouse Square Yes, it’s almost that time again. We’ve scheduled this year’s plant sale on the Saturday before Easter since last year’s event on the same day was so incredibly successful and well-attended. We will have a wide variety of sun plants, but will also include plants for shade like we did last year. This year, we plan on promoting pollinator plants and hope to have some milkweed varieties available as well. So, mark your calendars and come prepared to stock up on our wonderful native plants. |
