Presentation summary
Rather than focusing on individual plant species, this talk will look at aquatic plant restoration in the San Marcos River through a habitat and decision-making lens. I will discuss how we plan and manage plant communities in a system with multiple endangered species that have distinct and sometimes competing habitat needs, and how funding, regulatory requirements, and long-term maintenance shape those decisions. The goal is to share how we think through tradeoffs, uncertainty, and balance when managing native plant communities in a highly diverse but constrained river system.
