We’re excited to welcome Jon Zeitler, retired Science and Operations Officer from the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Austin/San Antonio, as our upcoming speaker on Weather and Climate.
Jon brings over three decades of experience in meteorology and climatology. His career includes forecasting roles in Houston/Galveston, Rapid City, and College Station, as well as climatologist positions at the Southeast Regional Climate Center in South Carolina and the Texas State Climatologist’s Office at Texas A&M University.
Jon holds a B.S. in meteorology from Iowa State University and an M.S. in meteorology from Texas A&M. His professional focus areas include decision support, safety and preparedness, and severe local storms, and he has published extensively on these and related topics.
Jon is a longtime member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society, with contributions to committees, editorial boards, and peer-reviewed journals.
Join us as Jon shares his unique insights into the dynamic relationship between weather and climate, drawing from a distinguished career in both forecasting and research.
About NPSOT Boerne Meetings: Join us for our monthly chapter meetings. You do not need to be a member to attend. We meet the first Tuesday of each month.
Our meetings start with a social time at 6:00pm. Announcements will begin at 6:45pm, followed by the presentation. For the social time, please bring any snacks/appetizers/desserts that you would like to share.
