On November 21 from 10am – 4pm, the Dallas Zoo will have their first Savanna Wildlife Weekend.
Join us for a weekend of inspiration, fun, and action as we celebrate animals of the grasslands, savannas, and prairies, including our own Blackland Prairie – the most endangered ecosystem in North America. We’ll have family-friendly activities throughout the Zoo teaching about grassland animals and the challenges they face in the wild. Learn about the Dallas Zoo’s work to help save animals from extinction, and pledge your support to engage in behaviors that help protect animals both locally and globally.
“At “Inspiration Stations” across the Zoo campus, we’ll share all the wonderful benefits of native grasses and other plants with a focus on grassland animals, ways to help protect them, and how take conservation action on their behalf. As part of our Thumbs Up for Wildlife campaign, we’ll aim to collect 2500 new pledges for conservation action over the weekend (a few photos from our Forest Wildlife Weekend in September are attached). If we succeed, we’ll have collected 10,000+ personal pledges for conservation action over the summer and fall!”
