2022 Silent Auction in Alpine, Texas, Alan R. Lusk

Online Auction

The online auction features four special packages designed with plant lovers in mind and is open to all interested parties to bid. You could win items like a cool river stay on the Native American Seed Farm, a Pineywoods cabin stay and private field trip from Symposium Speaker Peter Loos, or a Allen Acres Bed and Breakfast stay & Edible Plant Class hosted by Symposium Speaker Charles Allen, and more! And your winning bid also supports the Kate Hillhouse Scholarship Fund and the Ann Miller Gonzalez Research Grant Fund!

Silent Auction

The silent auction will be set up in the Fredonia Hotel along with exhibits and vendors. During the symposium, donations will be accepted Friday afternoon, 11/10/23 from 2pm-4 pm and through Saturday afternoon, 11/11/23. If you want to donate an item to the silent auction, but are unable to attend the symposium and cannot coordinate with someone who is, please email Renata Lucia at admin-assist@npsot.org for mailing instructions. Mailed items must be received by 10/23/23.

All items must be accompanied by a bid sheet with the name, description of the item, estimated item value and suggested opening bid completed. Twenty percent of the estimated value is recommended for the suggested opening bid.

Please note that donations do not have to be expensive or related to native plants. Whether it is a gift certificate to a favorite restaurant or store, an admired book that you want to pass on to another native plant lover, or perhaps a treasure of your own making, each donation contributes to a very worthwhile cause. Items of local interest are especially popular.

About the Proceeds

Proceeds from the silent auction go toward the Kate Hillhouse Scholarship Fund and to the Ann Miller Gonzalez Research Grant Fund. Kate Hillhouse and Ann Miller Gonzalez were early supporters of Texas native plants and were devoted to preserving our area native plants thus funds generated from these two events provide us with a way to honor them. Please help us make this year’s symposium a great success by participating in these events!

Silent Auction Volunteers Are Needed

The Silent Auction Committee is asking for volunteers to help during the symposium. If you can volunteer for the silent auction or have any questions about the auction, please contact Betsy Farris, Co-Chair of the 2023 Silent Auction.
