About the Speakers
Peggy Antone
Peggy has been an active member of the Native Plant Society of Texas–Clear Lake Chapter since 2017. She serves on the Outreach Committee and chairs the Monarch Waystation Committee. In 2025, she became a Certified Texas Master Naturalist and has earned the Level 1 and Level 2 Native Landscape Certifications from the Native Plant Society.
Robin Kendrick-Yates
Robin is a retired physician assistant who spent 20 years at MD Anderson Cancer Center managing pain for those being treated for cancer. During retirement, he found healing through gardening with plants native to the Texas Gulf Coast. Since 2021, he has volunteered with Harris County Master Gardeners, developing a native plant bed at their Genoa Friendship Gardens demonstration site. Robin holds advanced training in composting and entomology, is a member of the Native Plant Society, and has earned the Native Landscape Certification. He enjoys speaking about native plants, composting, and other gardening topics, teaching master gardener interns, and contributing to Urban Dirt, the Harris County Master Gardener newsletter. When not gardening, he enjoys spending time with his wife, roasting coffee, and riding his motorcycles.
Linda Kuhn
Linda is a fourth-generation Texan, born and raised in the Houston area, with a career spanning environmental regulation, consulting, geology, and law. She joined the Clear Lake Chapter in 2021 and became a Texas Master Naturalist (GBAC) in 2022. Like many, she once assumed plants sold locally were “native,” and she has embraced the steep learning curve ever since. Linda currently serves as chapter treasurer and is working toward her Native Landscape Certification. At home in Pearland, she is quietly re-wilding her “traditionally landscaped” subdivision—one yard at a time. Her best friend Birdie is a 15½-year-old pit bull she adopted and renamed after Lady Bird Johnson.
Susan Parker
Susan is an active member of the Clear Lake Chapter and a Texas Master Naturalist with the Galveston Bay Area Chapter. You can find her at many of our outreach events. She also serves as the field trip coordinator for The Longhorn Project at Johnson Space Center, where she helps connect students and visitors with hands-on agricultural and STEM learning experiences.
