Message from Claire Sorenson, NPSOT Austin President
Dear NPSOT Austin Members,
I am excited to announce that we are forming a new collaboration with the Native Prairies Association of Texas (NPAT). NPAT is a nonprofit membership organization and an accredited land trust. Its mission is dedicated to the conservation, restoration, and appreciation of native prairies, savannas, and other grasslands in Texas. To read more about NPAT’s mission, please click here.
Starting this Fall, NPAT will allow us to hold our plant sales and store equipment on their Dowel Ranch property in South Austin, 301 West FM 1626, Manchaca, TX 78652. This will cut in half the work it takes to hold our plant sales, since we will no longer need to move our equipment twice a year.
In return, we will support their prairie restoration activities. There will also be space for members to grow native plants for prairie restoration and plant sales, host educational activities, and maybe even create some demonstration gardens.
